Through its products and partnerships, thinkbaby / thinksport strives to be a socially responsible company. Our products are produced in GMP compliant facilities and thinkbaby / thinksport doesn’t support facilities that use child labor, harbor an unfair work environment or use materials that are toxic to workers, consumers and the environment. Instead we focus on using safe, sustainable materials. Beyond the reach of our products, we wanted to find an organization we could support that aligned with our own mission.
When we were in search of an organization to support, we identified key criteria:

  • Does the organization’s mission tie closely to ours?
  • Does the organization do what they say?
  • Are they willing to break down barriers to get the job done?
  • Could a relationship with thinkbaby / thinksport have a positive impact?

Over the years, we met and worked with quite a few organizations that just weren’t the right fit for us. When we came across LIVESTRONG, the organization’s message and direct support for cancer survivors inspired us and we knew we had found the right organization.

"As an avid endurance athlete, I have had the opportunity to race against Lance Armstrong back when he was winning triathlons at age 16.  I use the word “race” here lightly, as he finished light years ahead of me at every race.  When I watched the press announcement that Lance had cancer, it was just crushing.  So much potential seemed to be lost.  And with curious eyes, we all watched him rise to become one of the greatest athletes of all time.  From the start of the Ride for the Roses (a fundraiser for the Lance Armstrong Foundation), I not only participated in these cancer fundraising events, but also created my own small fundraisers for LAF to help bring awareness to survivorship. Seeing the inspiration first hand felt by cancer survivors and folks riding in honor of them together and fighting the fight against cancer was part of why we specifically created thinkbaby / thinksport. It is estimated that 95% of cancers are environmentally based. And there is significant research pointing to chemicals leaching from consumer products to be one of the culprits."


LIVESTRONG provides survivors and their families with information, resources and support in an easy, one-stop fashion. From the moment a person is diagnosed LIVESTRONG’s resources like the Guidebook and Cancer Navigation Center can help them find basic cancer information, financial support, the latest clinical trial information, emotional support and so much more. LIVESTRONG’s proactive approach to what they do is very much in tune with how we work at thinkbaby / thinksport.

thinkbaby / thinksport provides LIVESTRONG with the ability to connect to a product that also supports their mission of awareness and prevention with the thinksport LIVESTRONG sunscreen. We brought to market the first sunscreen to pass Whole Foods Premium Care requirements that also received the prestigious “1” rating from EWG/The Breast Cancer Fund.

With cancer rates reportedly between 1 in 4 and 1 in 2, we believe the more companies that involve themselves in the creation of safe alternatives, the better off we will all be. Through our unique partnership with LIVESTRONG, not only do we focus on removing chemical toxins from our consumer products along with producing a safe sunscreen, we are able to further our reach by committing to a $1.5 million donation to their important work. When you select one of our products, you are making a difference in the fight against cancer.

We are proud to work with LIVESTRONG and honored to work side-by-side with their partners Nike, Trek, Oakley, Radio Shack, Nissan, American Century, FRS and Johnson Health Tech in supporting the fight against cancer.  On a tour of LIVESTRONG HQ, Lance said it best, “it will be a great day when this place gets converted into a restaurant or something else, because that is the day we have beaten cancer. But until that day, LIVESTRONG will be taking on the fight.” And thinkbaby / thinksport is taking on this fight alongside LIVESTRONG with the same tenacity and determination required to tackle the world’s toughest cycling race.
